The SIA Door Supervisor Level 2 Qualification is one of our most demanding qualifications for individuals seeking to work in the private security industry. This qualification allows individuals to work in roles involving licensed premises where alcohol is served publicly. A Door Supervisor can perform all the duties of a Security Guard, whereas a Security Guard cannot work as a Door Supervisor. Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at individuals who are looking to become qualified to obtain a full frontline Door Supervisor SIA licence. By undertaking this qualification, you will meet the requirements to be deployed within Security roles undertaking licencable activities under the terms of the Private Security Act (2001)

Eligibility

To be eligible to undertake the training course, candidates must be able to evidence the following.

  • Candidates must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able to meet the ID requirements set by the SIA
  • Must hold a valid Emergency First Aid certificate (EFAW)
  • Undertake online basic English assessments

I have criminal convictions; can I still apply for an SIA licence?

This is not at the discretion of VIRPIO SECURITY. The SIA website has a criminal records indicator to check eligibility.

How long does my Level 2 Door Supervisor Qualification last for?

Your qualification typically lasts for 3 years. After that, you will need to renew it via a Refresher Course.

How long does it take to get my SIA licence?

The SIA aims to process applications within 25 working days, but the entire process often takes around 6 weeks.

What if I fail elements of my training?

VIRPIO SECURITY provides one free re-sit for funded candidates. Further re-sits cost �50 per module.
