Background

JD Pipes, a leading supplier of civil and drainage products in the UK, acquired a new 2.75 acre site to establish a flagship branch in Bradford. This warehouse is now JDP’s largest facility outside of their head office. VIRPIO SECURITY was awarded the contract to provide comprehensive security services for the site.

This case study focuses on VIRPIO SECURITY’s successful mobilisation of the security contract, highlighting how the company effectively overcame time constraints and resource challenges to ensure a seamless start to security operations from day one.

Challenges

From the outset, VIRPIO SECURITY was tasked with arranging a 24/7 security set up within a limited timeframe that enabled an effective communication system where any outsourced contractor would be allowed to carry out site work, even in the absence of a JDP staff member.

Approach

To address the challenge, VIRPIO SECURITY implemented a predefined approval escalation process where security personnel send automatic notifications to a senior staff member or client representative, if a discrepancy arises such as a contractor arriving without pre-authorisation. The designated staff member then reviews the request and provides remote approval.

Success

This system streamlined the process, allowing security personnel to efficiently managed contractor authorisations while keeping the client informed and ensuring the security of the premises.
